Shipping Policy for Nico van der Merwe Wines

1. Delivery Areas
We deliver to all physical addresses within the Republic of South Africa. Please note that we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes or PostNet Suites, as a physical signature from a person over the age of 18 is required for all alcohol deliveries.
2. Shipping Rates & Estimates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.

Free Shipping: We offer free shipping on all orders over R1500.
3. Order Processing Time
All orders are processed within 1–2 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
Note: During peak seasons (like December or Black Friday), processing times may slightly increase.
4. Alcohol Delivery & Age Verification
In accordance with the South African Liquor Act:

Alcohol will only be delivered to persons over the age of 18.

Our couriers are required to ask for a valid South African ID or Passport if the person receiving the wine appears under the age of 25.

If no one over 18 is available to sign for the delivery, the order will be returned to the depot, and a re-delivery fee may apply.
5. How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 24 hours for the tracking information to become available.
6. Damages & Breakages
Wine is fragile. If you receive your order and the box is visibly wet or leaking, please refuse the delivery and notify us immediately at admin@nvdmwines.com. If you discover a breakage after opening the box, please take a photo and contact us within 24 hours so we can arrange a replacement or refund.
7. Remote Area Surcharges
While we strive for flat-rate shipping, certain extremely remote areas (farms, remote coastal towns, etc.) may incur a "Remote Area Surcharge." If this applies to your order, we will contact you before processing the payment.
